Teddy is a 15.2 hh, 7-year-old Appendix Quarter Horse rescued from auction. Teddy has proved to be very broke, very level-headed, and very sound, to boot! Although he came to us with very sharp teeth (which has since been addressed), and an injured eye, Teddy is all healed and ready to be re homed. He is good for a confident beginner rider (with instruction), on up. Good for trail or arena riding and can be ridden English or Western. Quiet, not spooky, and he's easy to get along with. And he has great feet! Currently located in Dixon, CA. If interested in adopting Teddy, please fill out our application athttp://www.auctionhorsesrescue.com/

"Lacey" is a 14 hh Arabian mare rescued from the kill truck, a few months back. The former gymkhana pony has since been learning to relax and enjoy being ridden, thanks to the work of trainer Jodi Tuft. The 17-year-old Arab is great with other horses, and ties/clips/trailers like a champ. Good in the arena for an advanced beginner on up, and trail for an intermediate rider. Not spooky, just forward. Rides both English and Western! Barefoot and an easy keeper. Lacey is located in Dixon, CA, along with Teddy! AHR was able to save the ancient stallion that night, for a mere $35. Thank you to Liz Radley for making this beautiful video, as tribute to Stormy, now retired at the Chincoteague Pony Rescue in Maryland. IN URGENT NEED OF PLACEMENT: "Lovely Lauren" is a 2008 mare by Gibson County (In Excess) and out of Hacienda Del Mar (by Jumron (GB)). Stands around 15.1 hh, making her a great size as a polo prospect. Could also make a cute western pleasure mount. Appeared to jog sound, though owner says she has an ankle chip she needs a bit more layup for. Needs immediate placement. Free to good home! Located in Pasadena, CA. If interested in Lovely Lauren, please fill out our application atwww.auctionhorsesrescue.com Hip 171 from last night's auction, 7-year-old, 17 hh Thoroughbred racehorse "Copiously," is settled in at his foster in Atwater, CA. Last raced at Golden Gate Fields in 2010, we don't know where he's been since, but he ended up at auction anyway. And for $275, we were able to whisk him to safety. And Hip 165, the 8 month old mule, is with new mom Ruby tonight. Congrats again, Ruby! Clubhouse had a visitor this week, when Poppy came to take her for a spin! The 5-year-old, 16.1 hh OTTB is available for adoption as a fancy-as-heck hunter/jumper or dressage prospect. If you want a Thoroughbred to take into the show ring, Clubhouse is your girl! If interested in adopting Clubhouse, please fill out our application at www.auctionhorsesrescue.com "Clubhouse Rules" is located in Chatsworth, CA. The auction is over, and Hip 165, who turned out to be just a weanling of a mule filly -- only 8 months old -- is safe, along with Hip 171, Thoroughbred gelding "Copiously." The 17 hh ex-racehorse, a prime target for match racers, was ours for a measly $275 -- below even meat price.. It was a difficult night for auction rescue, with this being the big Saturday before Christmas. Many people were occupied at holiday parties, or traveling, or just lacking the resources to take on another horse right now. In the end, we had to leave many behind that broke our hearts. The one we still hope to find a "Hail Mary" for is Hip 156, the older Arabian mare. If anyone can provide her a home, please email us at [email protected] Unfortunately, absolutely nothing is known about her, other than she is older, about 14 hh, and seems very sweet. Congratulations to Ruby for her darling new baby, and thank you Sher, Katie, Travis, Natalie, Piper, Brenda, and the Cowtown auction staff for all your help. 6 year old Thoroughbred, an unnamed gelding by Bringtheheat and out of a Flying Flags mare12/20/2013 NEEDS URGENT HOME: This coming-6 year old Thoroughbred, an unnamed gelding by Bringtheheat and out of a Flying Flags mare, stands at 16 hh. Needs time for rehabilitative vet/farrier care before he should be ridden or worked again. Needs a home ASAP! Free to good home. Currently located in Pasadena, CA.
