After a long layover in Arizona, Butterscotch -- aka registered Saddlebred mare "Desert's Golden Memories" -- finally made it home to new mom Amanda's ranch in New Mexico!
We rescued Butterscotch when she sold through a slaughter auction, in July of this year. She was among 100 head of horses dispersed a few years before, when her breeder became too ill to care for them. We shudder to think how many more from that herd ended up the way Butterscotch did, without the luck of someone like us intervening.
We're thrilled this older, unbroke broodmare is yet another "hopeless" horse to have found a happy ending through AHR. And biggest thank you of all to Amanda
