Make that 13 lives pulled from the auction pipeline this weekend..
Our phone died as the auction began, and we were in the cold -- as it were, physically, logistically, and financially. We started off, the auction beginning, with no homes:
But we knew there was one mare in attendance, injured from a loading accident, who needed our help. We stayed through the auction, planning to step up for her, but were relieved when a kind-hearted auction attendee decided to make the commitment instead.
Well...thanks to our friend Bianca, the last minute decision was made to rescue the mini, who came right before the auction began. We're happy to have made sure that happy join-up has been made!
But what to do when Hip 513, an underweight 3-year-old filly, entered the auction ring, with no bids? You guessed it.. This gorgeous girl was rescued, and will head to our friend Taylor's facility in Bakersfield to be rehabilitated and then rehomed through AHR.
Thank you Bianca and Taylor, and the lady who bought the injured mare, for a happy ending for yet a few more!
