"Mi Gatita," a 5-year-old Thoroughbred racehorse, sold at auction a few months back, over raced, stressed out, and distraught by her surroundings. Another Boston Baked Bean -- an amped-up racehorse, bewildered by their surroundings.
Kristin Mulhall offered to foster Mi Gatita through her "decompression" period, an offer we gratefully accepted. Kristin's expertise as a race trainer meant we could receive a realistic assessment of where this mare's "head" was at. A period of time to come off the high grain diet and cooped-up stall of racetrack life, along with any trauma she endured since then (she was brought to auction by notorious match racers).
Although still only track broke, she's willing under saddle, over poles, and took to the jump chute like a charm.
Mi Gatita is ready for a job, so she's on her way back to our facility, to begin training under saddle.
