Please help Sterling's Stormy get home to the land of the Chincoteagues! His "ship" leaves TOMORROW! We've raised $695 so far, but still need $880 to get him on the transport that will take him back to Chincoteague Pony Rescue!!!
Rescued from auction, at 25 years old, this elderly Chincoteague Pony stallion is believed, courtesy of Debbie Ober of CPR's research, to be the progeny of Arabian stallion "Premiere," who was bred to a number of Chincoteague Pony mares 25-30 years ago. Premiere was a solid chestnut with lots of chrome, so Stormy's dam must have been the pinto mare from the herd, sent to the Arabian breeding farm where Premiere stood.
Since then, Stormy has been a stellar show pony, showing in harness tack, and standing at stud.
All these years later, in his very deep golden years, he ended up at a California auction...almost shipped to slaughter.
Sweet and adorable, at only 12 hh, Sterling's Stormy would like to retire among his own kind. We are very grateful to Chincoteague Pony Rescue's offer to take him back, as well as Boston Baked Bean's hauler for making space to take the stallion home, at a reduced rate! But we need your help!!
Please help us raise the remaining $880 to get Stormy to his birthplace! Our Paypal is [email protected] - no donation is too small! Let's reach our goal!!!
