Romeo has to spend an extra day at West Coast Equine Hospital, after his temperature soared to 104F, the day after his gelding surgery and wolf teeth extraction.
This is a prime example as to why we go the hospital route with medical procedures like these.
Rest assured, Romeo is receiving excellent care, and we pray we'll get to see him back at our ranch tomorrow!
In sadder news, a number of almost identical-looking rose grey-colored Arabians sold through a livestock auction today, rumored to be part of a herd dispersal. We suspect Romeo was part of that, when he arrived at Lancaster Auction earlier this month. All, along with 10-year-old Thoroughbred gelding "Levee Town," sold to the slaughter buyer. All the more reason Romeo is such a lucky boy. And all the more reason we need adopters!
