The private rescuer that took Sterling's Stormy full Chincoteague daughter from auction, the same night we rescued Stormy, is having financial troubles and cannot continue her commitment to this 12-year-old, unbroke pony mare. She is by Sterling's Stormy, and out of his half sister Raspberry Girl, making her full Chincoteague Pony. Unfortunately, as was known the day she was rescued from auction, she was owned by a hoarder since birth, so she is only halter broke and requires an experienced handler to break her to ride.

At 14 hh, she is sound and a beautiful mover. But scared, and requires an understanding, knowledgeable hand. We're hopeful to find the appropriate rescue or rescuer that can "take the reins" and insure this mare is given a proper start in life. Not prematurely euthanized, not sent to Animal Control to be adopted out to god knows who. But properly rehabilitated and retrained, so she can be rehomed and given a chance at a wonderful, happy life.

We are not set up to take unbroke horses, and so would only be able to take her ourselves if someone could sponsor three months of professional training with a gentle horse breaker. Because of this, we hope to find a rescuer capable of taking on this challenge -- and commitment -- themselves.

We are networking this mare as a courtesy.
