Rescue #2 today was this gorgeous, 12-year-old Appendix Quarter Horse mare. Identified by tattoo as "Legend Express," by Special Legend and out of a Ronas Ryon mare, this Idaho-bred OTQH raced 3 times at Prairie Meadows, including an unimpressive run in a Futurity Trial. 10 years later, she took her turn at a livestock auction, selling between lots of...ducks. Some sorely overgrown feet, and ungodly long hooks in her mouth, speak to having gone without quality care for quite some time.
Today, her teeth were floated at West Coast Equine Hospital, then vaccinated and wormed, with a farrier appointment scheduled for tomorrow. Now, she heads to LA Pet Rescue in Chatsworth, where she will be available for adoption.
