"Queenie Juanita" (right), and "Kenosabis Widgeon" (formerly know as "Gimpy") are enjoying their time together in a spacious paddock at foster Shannon's house. Lots of pets, treats, and twice daily bute for "Autumn" (Gimpy's new name).
Autumn, living up to her former name, is having a very difficult time getting around, even on bute. We're giving the girls a peaceful final few days together, before we give Autumn a humane end.
Autumn may be the first horse we've rescued with the intention of providing a humane euthanasia, and try as we might to make her comfortable as a companion horse, it just isn't working.
Queenie has an amazing retirement home set up for her in Loomis, once Autumn's time has come. We will try to make the transition as easy as possible for them both.
