This is "Tony the Pony," the day we rescued him at auction. The elderly Morgan cross pony had a lovely six months at our rescue, with lots of love courtesy of Nikki, Ally, Anne, and Shannon. In the end, his elderly body was unable to keep up the fight for life, and after a systemic infection set in this past week that failed to respond to any and all medical intervention, and quality of life quickly dwindled, Tony left this world.
Our biggest, most heartfelt thank you of all goes to Shannon and her family, for giving their unceasing love (and attention) to this sweet old man. Sadly, like Sienna, he was to be a hospice case.
Also thank you to Dr Byerly and Dr Rathbone for working to make Tony's final few months comfortable. And ensured a peaceful end.
Even for a rescue, providing hospice and euthanasia does not come cheap. If you would like to help us, as we had to bid farewell to two horses this past week, please donate through our website - http://www.auctionhorsesrescue.com/donate.html
Thank you and God bless.
