NEEDS URGENT RESCUE:
This tattooed bay Thoroughbred mare came into West Valley Animal Control as a stray in the Sylmar area on November 5. Still has faint English saddle marks, though with neglected feet. Guess of age is around 15, perhaps late teens. Tattoo so far unsuccessfully read -- can't make out more than ??670?.
Mare is hoof sore and needs proper farrier care.
The pound is full, so she is at risk of euthanasia at any time. We also are always concerned these horses are adopted by people willing and able to address their needs -- this mare needs immediate farrier and vet. Overall seems healthy, but undiagnosed hoof issues.
